The thing is that his corner and his team should’ve recognised a weakness in head kicks. Cause even I, as a fan, could tell Kamaru doesn’t really defend well against head kicks but people don’t throw it often. Leon did and he dropped Usman like a sack of bricks.

I was hoping Rockhold would keep fighting his kicks are crazy he landed a ton of powerful kicks and the variety is rarely seen. He landed some big shots too. Salt Lake City is worst place he could have fought coming back. He just got tired and he blew a couple takedowns that would have given him a win I bet

@@nikushachanturia all the fighters seemed to tire fast on that card, must’ve been the heat or humidity. The shots he did land were superb, slick and trained, I’d love to see him back in there with Strickland or Vettori I think he has much more success in those fights.

It was all built up too. He trained Usman to be used to low kicks coming in following that jab. Then just switched it up and sent Marty to Mojahed's Ghost Realm.

GSP lost and each time came back better and then went on a historic run of title defenses in the WW division that still isn't matched. That being said, I still think Usman is incredible and probably the second best WW ever and would still pick him to beat Edwards in a rematch.

I can agree, but also was sad to see him lose only because it seems like he only recently started getting the respect he constantly fought for. He was seen as a boring "non-champ" champion for so long, and then started finishing fights. It will be interesting to see how the rematch goes and how he fights afterwards should he win.

Usman’s game plan was on point until that head kick DAMN!!! He got turned over in the first round and most likely lost that round but he wrestled and grappled the heck out of him for the next 4 rounds. Even working the body and some nice boxing but always being cautious of Leon’s striking although I couldn’t understand why Leon was so hesitant to let his hands go? Even his coaches were screaming at him. I thought it was the altitude getting to him. Idk he just looked like he was not there. And then Leon set up that left hand to hide the left head kick from hell!!! I’m glad he was classy and didn’t go for the “HENDO after shot special” lol. That being said, this was one of the greatest comebacks I’ve seen. I’m just glad I got to see this one live on TV.

Leon basically said he was at his worst going into the fight, but I think a big part for the low volume was nothing to do with Usman's striking and more to do with the threat of more take-downs. Glad he solved it in time

I'm interested to see if Usman can do what GSP did after his loss to a wrestler like Hughes. Obviously this is opposite because he's already a wrestler who was hit with a kick but maybe he goes to the best strikers and focuses fully on striking since he doesn't need any work on wrestling skills let's see. I doubt that happens again honestly Usman is a beast and in my opinion the much better fighter no disrespect towards Edwards at all did his job and is champion now.

A lot of people don't realize that the UFC only pays like 25% of revenue to fighters. NBA is like 50%. NFL is like 48%. They have the money to pay them more.

I hated luke his whole career then I found out he was training with Jason at rvca I decided "ok fuck it, I love Jason and the rvca team, I hate Paulo Costa so I'm rooting for Luke" boy am I glad I did!!!! Honestly I now see that usman has holes in his game Head kicks and his ground game isn't great, he just hasn't been taken down before this fight. But if he does get taken down, his ground game isn't as good as I thought.
