I had it scored one round up to Henderson, and although I can't say that I felt Ben decisively, the same can be said about Gil. IMO, you have to win more decisively to dethrone a champ.I feel the decision was fair, definitely needs rematch in the future.

That fight was pretty damned close, if anything there should be an immediate rematch.

Nate only got owned when he got frustrated and start chasing Thompson with his hands down. He could have adjusted to Joshs little running game and possibly turn it around. But when your style is as well known as the Diaz brothers, its not too hard to develop a strategy to hit and run and stall out a lucky decision from just a few extra shots landed.

actually the ufc fined took the fighters bonus, the commission suspended him and over turned the dec to a no contest, they took half his bonus and gave to bryan caraway, and the other half didnt get awarded, healys normal purse for show still was the same. he didnt get a win bonus or the two fight night bonus's becasue its a no contest.

Still Alves is a tough fight for almost anyone at WW and since losing to GSP he's wrecked John Howard and Papy Abedi and was definately beating Kampmann until he went for a stupid takedown in the last minute...he just hasnt looked consistent, hopefully he'll be like he was before all his injuries.

Why would they do that? It's way better to be fighting someone with long hair, I don't think anyone would want him to cut it... When he get's hit even just a little jab he pulls his head back (like anyone would) but that effect can make it look like a big hit was landed cause his hair flies back. It's the same reason Urijah Faber cut his, he said he was losing to many points cause judges thought he was getting his when he wasn't. Not to mention it's annoying as hell fixing it constantly.

I love Diaz but he really has to change some stuff about his fighting and his life if he wants to be the best in the world. He is one of my favorite fighters though, and I don't want to see his potential to be champ go to waste...

I don't think you really read his comment. The athletic commission fines the fighter and takes the money. If there is no athletic commission in the jurisdiction of the fight location then I believe the UFC is responsible for any fines if they wish to give them. Hope that makes sense.

Gilbert was amazing in this fight I really thought he won but it easily could have gone either way.

I had Bendo over Gil, with Bendo winning rounds 3-5. I thought Bendo did more damage (in round 5), but that was a very close fight (I don't care about stupid stuff like "aggression" or "Octagon control;" wtf does that stuff even mean in context to MMA?). Gil deserved a rematch a hell of a lot more than Frankie Edgar did, because unlike Frankie Edgar, he didn't clearly lose 3 rounds.

GSPS 20+ fights in the UFC aren't all decisions. GSP has simply been fighting higher caliber guys more regularly, thus making it harder for him to finish. Fact is hes literally BROKEN every opponent, destroyed them every round. And alot of these guys were bigger and stronger then him. Id like you to name someone GSP has fought whos still doing good in the UFC? Exactly

theres a difference between trying to make the fight better and making mistakes. if you've ever fought in amateurs whether it be mma or boxing, or maybe sparred a fighter for 5 rounds, you will fucking know that there is going to be different approaches when fighting different people. nate made a mistake by leaning into the kick, josh looked for small opportunities to capitalize, and he only threw the kick to see how nate would respond. then boom KO. simple as that.

He has a TRT exemption, and is legally allowed to be on TRT when fighting in Brasil, where he has been fighting lately. Not unlike American fighters Chael Sonnen and Dan Henderson; it is legal, which is why everyone knows it.

i would rather watch a flyweight fight than a heavyweight any day of the week including twice on sundays. before the WEC came arou d, i was a huge fan of SHOOTO mma promotion in Japan.

I sure hope not, he is getting old though. In 80% of cases anathlete will start to show signs of slowing down when there in 35+. The other 20% are the more uncommon individuals like Bernard Hopkins,randy couture,anderson silva etc who can possibly push 40+.

Yeah as far as I'm concerned that should go for every fighter. if you support them, support them through the rough times as well. and I don't hate the Diaz bros, just don't like them and their attitude that much.
