Defeating Pereira was the greatest win in UFC history. No glaze. The fact he lost 3 times to this man who possess Herculean equalizing power, the fact that it SHOULD be 2-2 overall across all fights, but he lost the 1st kickboxing fight and first MMA fight narrowly, the fact that Alex knocked everyone else out easily. Then Izzy sleeps him COLD, which is an image you can barely imagine for Pereira if not the cameras. The celebration was also the coldest ever. Breaking the arrow was ICONIC. Like it or not. This is the stuff legends are made of. Commence the weak dog jokes 🥱

@@chriscappa1 he didn’t keep Ddp down long enough to matter. And Ddp is more of a striking threat so Izzy will try to stay out of his range, then boom, against the gate getting kneed in the thigh for 2 minutes. Eventually Izzy will lose his mobility to the knees and won’t be able to back up or grapple as his legs will be mush. Ddp is the khabib of the middleweights except his striking is actually elite. He’s the best striker the middle weight division has seen in my opinion as even Anderson Silva didn’t 10-8 Izzy on the feet. And Ddp clearly beat Strickland. Anderson would have PROBLEMS with Strickland as Strickland keeps everything tight, limiting Anderson counters. Sean can also cut off a ring so Anderson will most likely end up against knocked down against the gate just like Izzy.

When I see Izzy fight, he definitely exhibits the “Be Water” way of fighting that the legendary Bruce Lee spoke of. I don’t like Izzy’s personality or attitude (he seems very narcissistic and emotionally immature) but he is so adaptable to counter what any fighter throws at him. Which is surprising to me that he lost to Strickland, I really do think he was just having an off day.

He doesn't get the credit he deserves..People just love hopping on hate trains. Izzy has been one of the most entertaining, skillfull, and dominant champs we've had in a while. Most fighters grind and finally get the belt then sit on it and fight once a year. Izzy was fighting 3 times a year even after getting the strap. The fact he KOd AP says it all..AP is HUGE and shouldn't have even been fighting in that weight class. That man is clearly a LHW.

20:08 listen closely to what Joe Rogan is saying. Those who true fans of combat sports and watched all of the fights between these two know that the 3-0 record leading into this fight did NOT tell the full story. Trolls love to try to come at Izzy online screaming 3-1 when in reality, he was robbed that first fight, Alex was given a NONSENSE standing 8 count despite not touching the ground in the 2nd fight and in the UFC 1st fight, Izzy was beating Alex the entire fight until the last round. This 4th fight showed how good Izzy is, nobody else in the UFC has been able to do that to Alex yet and I'm a Poatan fan. He literally used to troll Izzy when Izzy was winning in the UFC before Alex got there and that's what led to Izzy saying that about Alex in that interview. Izzy and Anderson are the MW goats and there is just no way around it, I can honestly see izzy winning his next 2 fights and fighting for the MW belt again and winning it 1 more time, he is that GREAT.
