Yep. Should be a DQ. If this is allowed, then why not allow spitting in someone's eye or biting your opponent to escape a submission? It's the same logic. One should not be allowed to deliberately use an illegal move to gain an advantage. Emphasis on 'deliberately'. Sometimes it happens by accident, but this one was 100% intentional and therefore it's cheating.

My coach said back in the days 'no-one can actually throw an effective combination over 3 or 4'. This was of course just for the basics and fundamental stuff.. Poirier did very much an effective combo of 7 just at 1:50. There is reason these guys are professionals. Beautiful!

@@srg8097 It's not hating the fighters. Read what he said again. Commentators which it was ridiculous. Poirier beat him pillar to post in rounds 1 and 2. He hit him in the head 150+ times in just 2 rounds. Had him dancing all over the place. The head strike differential was insane. Gaethje had a good 3rd round but it was still close. Cruz was saying Gaethje was winning the fight when the 3rd round ended. Justin Gaethje got CTE in the first 2 rounds of this fight.

Justin made some really cool adjustments from the first fight into the second one. For instance, he stopped throwing inside leg kicks because each time he would Dustin would capitalize and hurt him so instead in the second fight he used outside leg kicks to offset Dustin's base on top of that Justin was a lot more calculated, he let Dustin lead and kept peppering him on the outside setting up the head kick off of that straight that Dustin kept trying to parry. Coupled with the accumulated damage from the outside leg kicks, it led to the insane KO in their second fight.

fluke headkick, Dustin beats him 9/10 times also, the outside leg kicks he was landing weren't gonna be as effective because due to dustin being southpaw, he was doing it off of the front leg rather than the rear leg so less power

I think this fight is what made the way for the Justin we see today. You can see Justin’s striking isn’t nearly as technical or controlled. Here Justin was accustomed to uncontrolled chaos, now he has more of a controlled chaos style that allows him to thrive more. Both were really good here, both are even better now.

Yo UFC, thanks for another great match. Been watching at least 1 match per/day. Always been a huge fan of all MMA organisations and combat sports and martial arts. Even before there was UFC. Had I little hiatus, but thanks guys I remembered how exiting and beatiful this sport is, every fight is completely different. LOVEIT so Thank yo guys.

I totally forgot about this matchup. Gaethje is an absolute dog but Poirier does not get the credit he deserves man. His boxing is perfect and he's tough as nails eating all those leg kicks. crazy fight!!

Love how I watched this like twenty times and yet I didn’t care about the biased commentary until I finally noticed Dustin punished Gaethjes biggest strat with a heavy left countering his lead leg kick DC, Cruz was glazing.

Going into the third I had Dustin winning both rounds but you could tell who the commentators wanted to win but justin was bleeding in the first two minutes of the fight Dustin ate legs kicks and DOMINATED

I thought the same thing, Gaethje might have won the third but with the point deduction Dustin was still up by two going into the fourth, I was so confused as to why Dom Cruz said he had Gaethje up clearly going into the fourth when he’s been getting pieced up until that point

Dustin pieced him tf up round after round and all the commentary could do was point out the leg kicks 😅 Justin was slowly getting his brains turned to mush and Dustin didn’t seem to be affected by the kicks much. Dustin has such lovely boxing
