Eddie is overlooked because of how Conor dismantled him. But the man was a beast. KO’ing an undefeated Gaethje like that is impressive.

Gaethje other defeats only by Holloway, Poirier, Charles and Khabib. Not bad at all from Eddie especially that finish Justin had on Michael Johnson prior to this fight.

Nah, it's because he's 4-3-1 in the UFC if anything or at all. The 2 Poirier fights and the loss to Cerrone was more devastating than losing to prime Conor and he was only in the UFC for 4yrs. You also have to take into account who was in the division at the time and his medical status. He made the right decision imho and I really don't think older MMA fans overlook him at all tbh because W/L/D like JG you knew you were going to get a good fight.

@@juangringo3906 I also agree that real mma fans do not over look Eddie's UFC career. Being in the UFC for only 4 years (2 years at the time of winning the belt) and becoming lightweight champion of the world is extremely impressive in itself, where as guy's like Cerrone, Gaethje, Poirier, have been fighting in the UFC for damn near forever and the closest some of them could get is interim belts.

@@joefaller9664 Eddie is such a beast, he just was NOT ready for that soap opera act the UFC put on because Conor was so so massive, and fighting every 6 weeks, and they landed the garden for the first time. He just was not ready for such a specticle; they wanted him to lose pretty much so conor could get his 2 titles (Which he did NOTHING with), shame, but Eddie is a beast, he deserves his respect, especially for only being in the ufc for a short time. This fight was incredible
