It has been 10 years and I feel worse for Chael every time I watch this fight. 120 seconds away from fulfilling his promise and within an instant it was gone

Anderson’s triangle is a prime example of why you should never quit in life - you can be losing the whole time but it only takes 1 opportunity to win

Sonnen had a magical ability to hit someone, making himself bleed and leaving the other guy looking untouched.

I could not imagine spending 4 rounds in the cage with Anderson Silva, whooping his ass the whole time, and then tapping out. Heart break

Perfect example of winning a fight but losing the war. Big respect to both of these Warriors. I remember the energy of this fight when we watched it live. INTENSE!!

I'm just getting into the lore of the UFC and MAN!!! Watching Chael dominate like this but fall short with the tap was so heartbreaking!!

Chael was the only man to figure out the spider in his prime. But to Silva's credit he found a way to win in the end. Both legends of the game

Still amazing to see years later. You could see Chael starting to gas out in top position in the final round -- sitting up and throwing slow, tired punches that allowed Anderson to pull his arm toward him and lock in the triangle. Unbelievable. Chael was up 40-34, 40-35, 40-36 on the scorecards entering the fifth.

One of the best fights I’ve ever seen! I remember watching this with my dad and we were both SCREAMING at the submission at the end!!! What a spectacular battle with two legendary fighters!
