His success is due to his coach. Just like rugby the success and failure is because of a good or bad coach. His coach squeezes little Dricus the same way as the clip you reference. Such an innovative way to reinforce the visualization. His coach will get coach of the year in 2024

It's funny because now that you mention it, Volk does a lot of the same things in close quarters and against the fence. It is unorthodox and unique in MMA, it isn't considered ideal technique. But because it is something those guys have been doing nearly their entire lives through rugby, they are extremely effective with those maneuvers because it is a technique that they have honed over a long time and countless reps.

I am still curious, why didn't you breakdown the part where DDP did a judo throw to takedown Whittaker which led to the damaging ground and pound, sao paulo pass to get into side control without losing position, how he used submission threat/attempts to advantage position and keep Rob down. I honestly hoped you'd include it in your breakdown.

Fully agree, as i mentioned in my message as well with his 7 Title Fights in EFC & KSW, DDP will be just fine, that breathing issue through his nose was taken care of, as we saw in the RW fight, Let’s Go DDP 💥👊🏻🇿🇦

@@MrDeanenHe did, I think it’s because even though his nose is fixed, he was naturally breathing through his mouth since he’s so used to it. He was gassed in his post fight interview, taking big deep breaths after every sentence.

Just because he hasn’t fought 5 rounds in the UFC doesn’t mean he lacks that experience, he’s been a champion in two promotions and defended his titles multiple times. DDP💪🏾

Great breakdown Brendan & Sayif, more of this, Thank U 🙏🏻👌🏻 I hear what u mentioned at the end in terms of DDP never having fought in a 5rnd in the UFC, DDP was a Dbl Champ ( MW & WW ) in the EFC & WW Champ in KSW, in total 7 fight’s we’re for the Title, of which he Won & then Defended the Belt, All those we’re 5rnd’s, obviously none of them ever got to Championship Rnds, DDP’s record speaks for itself, 9 KO’s, 10 Subs, 1 went to a Decision in the UFC & obviously 2 losses, DDP has the Cardio, he did struggle in the early fights of UFC due to a breathing issue through his nose, he had surgery before the RW fight & as u could see, no issues with Cardio, obviously the way DDP fight’s, it’s flat out from the beginning to the end, i will be very shocked if this fight went the distance, i say rnd 2/3 KO or GNP for DDP 💥 Apologies Sean u are one of my favourite UFC fighter’s, BUT …. i have to go with my countrymen, Let’s Go DDP 💥👊🏻🇿🇦

I was thinking the same thing about DDP 5 round experience, because I recalled him mentioning his experience prior to UFC in a past interview. He has plenty of 5 round experience from KSW, etc. I'll be pulling for my countryman DeSean...but I won't be mad if DDP wins. Anybody but Izzy! 😅

@@misocriallo4379 Howzit Bud, yeh he definitely has the experience in terms of Title Fight’s, been in 7 in total, he was also a Jnr World Champ, so Dricus has been on the big stage before, obviously UFC is the Pinnacle, nerves will be there for both of them, Dricus must just implement his game plan, but i do think he has the edge, Sean is a great fighter, he is one of my favourite’s, we route for our boytjies, may the best man win, then go and kick Izzy’s ass @ UFC300 and send him into permanent retirement 🤪🤣🤣🤣👊🏻 Enjoy the Fights

They've talked around it, usually calling it "walk forward", but Du Plessis vs Strickland is a battle for control. Putting the other fighter where they want them, manipulating their opponent's body to use against them. Dricus seems to specialise in more complex but fast transitions.

If that headbutt didn't happen...Dricus wouldn't have had any success at all in the fight. Sean bashed him up. Dricus couldn't land anything. And the only time that he could land was when Sean had blood in his eye and couldn't see. Sean still clearly won the fight. IT WAS A CLEAR WIN FOR THE PEOPLE'S CHAMP! The world knows who truly won that fight. Dricus won't even get 1 defence. He will get bashed next fight...especially if it's the rematch with Sean. SEAN WILL GET THAT BELT BACK! He will silence all you fools! Sean beat up Adesanya...he dropped him and outclassed him for 5 rounds...nobody has done that to Adesanya EVER...but Sean did. Sean has a broken knee and a dead big toe after his Motorcycle crash, and I think that adds to the fact that he is not wrestling that much after his comeback. DDP is weird and orthodox and cares more about results than how he looks, so I think Dricus will win this.
