In the lawler vs condit fight, the consensus between the commentators, the corners, the crowd, even robbie lawyer knew he had to knock condit out in that final round. Apparently only the judges saw it differently🤣🤣

Condit won that first fight of 2016. Sometimes MMA has the same fixed problems as Boxing. Seems like Sanche Kick was a thing in that era, seeing Swanson and Garbrandt activating them.

The Swanson vs Choi raises the age old question "how much can one man take?" and expands it to "how much can two men take?" Turns out it's a lot. That was a wild 2nd round. Maybe not quite Don Frye vs Yoshihiro Takayama at Pride 21 level but still impressive.

It’s back and forth. UFC started out grappling heavy, then a lot of strikers got good at stuffing takedowns and keeping it upright, or even the wrestlers who fell in love with their big overhands. Then better grappling gets injected into the sport until the strikers catch up again, and so on.

Basically what I’m getting at is, while the vast majority of these -ev/-ov fighters might be as boring as watching paint dry, they’re gradually bettering the grappling of even the worst fighters until eventually anyone worth their ranking will fight these guys like how Volk fought Islam the first time, or Poirier.

Michael bisping got the win over Silva 😂 that was some UK bullshit judging for sure! Silva barely had a scratch and never fell. Bisping was f*cked up bad in all 5 rounds.
