Yeah great fight but...... Did anybody saw Donald Trump simping all over khabib in the crowd after Islam won lol? I don't know the scene was funny to me. I remember in one of trump press conferences which geathje and dana white (and other fighters) went and trump was like : "yeah geathje is about to fight in my opinion the best p4p fighter in the world so lets support geathje " or something along those lines...

Nah they both did great in their elements, Dustin’s boxing was one escape away from winning that fight. Just an amazing final takedown and choke. Both fighters were their best selves and could’ve gone either way, DPs improved a ton since Khabib

Goes to show when push comes to shove Islam and khabib can pull things nobody has ever seen in MMA. Khabib was so dominant, he didn’t had to pull up his second card at all and we didn’t see full Potential. Islam’s move will be studied and discussed over and over again now and we might see fighters adopting it, that’s how you make your name as a legend

Islam was never in a boring fight. He gave his best against the best boxer in the lightweight division, and got the finish. Dustin also went out after the D’Arce Choke. Damn. Thank you both for this fight!

Islam's finishing rate is actually very hight specially in the championship level. His last 8 fight where all very very exciting. The only thing I didn't like in this fight about Islam was that sometimes he would throw arm punches instead of committing more in the punches he was throwing on Poirier. Because in the first minute of the fight Islam actually hurt dustin with his punches when he put put weight in to them, also he didn't feint and us a lot of feint and fakes with the striking in this fight like he usually does in all of his fights.

@@wofieguns3007Islam already won the first three rounds and just lost the fourth because dustin cut Islam head by his elbow and it's 3-1 going to the fifth round and before the finish, Islam also won the fifth round by outstrike him and landed more significant strike to the head with his punch and knees and the ankle pick takedown which led to the Submission finish, even without a finish he already won 4 round and only lost the fourth round but Winning with finish is more exciting and satisfying to see

yup, legit looked like the first volk fight. islam was gassed after round 1. and he was like rushing to get a finish so that he didnt need to go more rounds, because even when he was throwing hands i swear they looked slow and his legs were wobbly. he def was on anitibiotics the whole camp and got off em at the later stages and looked like he looked now.

@@sowansher7589 He was also dehydrated in the first Volk fight. Fighter usually get 24-36 hours for rehydration after weigh-in. But due to the messy schedule Australian organiser set, Islam got only 13 hours. But as the Volk's smaller, he didn't need as much time

Respect to Islam. I was yelling at my tv, rooting for dustin, he is my all time favorite fighter. but there is no denying the technical skill and strength of islam. it was a helluva fight. Islam is a class champion and im excited to see him pursuing a belt in another weight class like a true champion. respect.

Same dude. A couple of moments when Dustin scrambled out of bad positions, or ripped out of the clinch I was yelling at the screen "Swing boy! Get it!!!". It was a great fight though, definitely brought out the best of both fighters.
