Islam IS that dude. Got boo’d by everyone at the lead up and event and was completely unphased. Went in there and faced a much more prepared Dustin since the Khabib fight and dug deep in the 5th and went to higher levels. That ankle swivel takedown and subsequent transition to the D’Arce was a thing of beauty. To me an Islam that faces some adversity and still finishing anyway is a much more dangerous fighter moving forward.

How anyone hates on this guy is nuts, he is putting up fight of the year contender fights, dog fights with grappling and submission attempts, dropping ppl on the standup, getting both early finishes and going 5 rounds back to back, amazing fight, props to dustin too, he had some big moments

You cannot say he is much better. He was a little better on this night though and deserves to be no.1 but there wasnt much between them and he only just got the win at the end of the fight. If Islam beats Tsarukyan he can start thinking about other belts. He had a very difficult time beating him last time and Tsarukyan has become 2 x as good since them. Islam wants to avoid him but he will have to fight him....... that fight was so close this can become the upset of the year

Islam has beaten Charles , Vlok twice and now Dustin. In all the matches he stood with them. Many said Charles would beat Islam as islam had only fought unranked guy's. Now he is the P4P fighter. He is and will become the most well rounded MMA fighter the UFC has seen in a long time. Most casual fans will dislike him but Islam fights for himself not to get fans

I understand Islam's point that his real motivation is now welterweight belt, but I still believe he needs to fight Arman and Justin before moving up. Tabaarakallah. He showed what a warrior he is. Dustin fought his best and still got outstruck. Hats off to both, and wishing the best for Dustin.
