I've been a Josh Emmet fan for several years now. Dude is not about hype, he just gets out there and murks people. It's nice to see the company showing him some promotion now, since he's not good at the WWE style of self-promotion. But those are they types of fighters I like the most, the ones who are just out there to fight.

I don’t know if Emmett beats Volkanovski, but the fact that they’re both compact, hard hitting tanks makes me really like that stylistic matchup.

No chance against volkanovski. All his opponents came short talent wise and strategy wise that’s why they lost. Hope Kattar protects his chin a little more this fight. He’s got a solid chin but it’s been tested plenty and if he’s no careful this fight might be the one to send him to sleep.

@@in33d2floss7 Volk was cracking the fuck out of both Ortega and Korean Zombie, I think he pulls back some of his power against guys like Max for the sake of cardio longevity in the fight but there’s no way you can tell me Volkanovski doesn’t crack when he wants to.

@@noelnegele6039 See from a strategic perspective, of course he doesn’t come close. But if you remember, one of Volk’s toughest fights prior to winning the belt was against Chad Mendes, who hit Volk with some powerful bombs and basically turned the fight into a war. I think if Emmett pushes the pace against Volk and forces him into a brawl, he’s got a much better chance. Not saying he’d win, but it would be a very fun fight.

@@alphacraig2001 The volk of the mendes fight is a totally different fighter now. You can argue the same thing about emmet. It’s the fight game, it’s all speculations but still, I don’t ever see a fighter like Emmet ever even get the chance to fight Volkanovski.

One of the most impressive things about emmet is that he chucks fastballs every five seconds and never gasses. He really has only three weapons (left hand, right hand, wrestling) but he can take apart more varied fighters like shane burgos and michael johnson because he's just so damn good at the few things he does

ah yes the weapons of MMA, the left hand and right hand. No one else but Emmett has those weapons. Shane and Michael are good at scrimming and scrapping but they're not world-beaters.

Josh Emmett is a total beast in the cage, always in super entertaining fight, should be way more hyped than he is, never seem to hear anything about him, then he has an amazing fight, wins, then disappears for 6 months then same again. Definately a top 5 guy in a stacked division.
