Why would he get a harder matchup if he loses? Leon atp in his career is easy pickings for a spot in the higher rankings(not saying I wouldn't want Prates to get a high ranking) MVP is probably the best pure striker at 170 and a serious threat for someone like Prates, with less reward cause he's lower in the rankings

LOL Anyone who's trained any sort of striking sport can tell that Prates is elite. Ian got outboxed by both MVP and Shavkat. I think Prates is the overall more dynamic striker of the two, with a hell of a lot more power. Ian could get the takedown and smudge him like he did MVP, though. Prates is DEADLY in the clinch, though.

I’ve never seen someone look more comfortable in the striking. He never second guesses any of his strikes and he has great eyes, and his accuracy is insane. I think he will stuff the takedowns and KO Garry in this fight

The aspect of Carlos' fights that I'm extremely impressed with is his takedown defense. Prates got taken down once on the contender series and he has stopped over a dozen takedowns in the UFC! Keep it up bro! You're gonna need excellent takedown defense against Garry, Edwards, Brady, Buckley, Muhammad, etc.

Prates is a different animal all together. Shavkat is a good all around fighter, but Carlos is a specialist. If Garry gets lazy for even a second, he's gonna get KO'd. Amd Prates is a BJJ black belt, so he isn't inept on the ground. If Garry can't take em down, Prates is ABSOLUTELY the better striker

I dont think Gary is going to be the guy who extends him long enough, because Gary is dog shit at fighting with pace.... he wanted to be who Prates is right now. That sticky soy BJJ was good for surviving Shavkat but it isnt the right type of grappling for this scenario. Prates is gunna eventually get to a third round and lose nearly instantly I assume..... I just dont think Gary is the right type of athlete to be able to close distance consistently, without taking severe punishment and a mid-low success rate.

Yeah, and Garry doesn’t seem to trust in his strikes. He hasn’t landed a good shot in his last 3 fights, he freezes up in front of these powerful guys. Prates being a southpaw is the nail in the coffin, Shavkat was snapping his head back at distance with telegraphed strikes. I can see the straight left KO from Prates all day.
