Up until this day I'm still MAD as hell for the outcome from Machida vs Shogun. Everyone knows that an undefeated fighter can generate more money AND more recognition in an event like this that's why they're having UFC 113. I really hope that money doesn't ruin this BEAUTIFUL sport in any way. May the best fighter win ;) Ever since UFC 104 I have stopped paying for PPV events like this I just watch them online for free.

I'm a fan of Machida, but I knew he had no chance against Shogun. The first fight proved it and this one solidified it.

I went 11/11 for the fights tonight. I was off the walls the entire night. Crazy shit! Rua completely showed everyone that he is better than Machida. Amazing domination.

Well, Shogun learned his lesson the second time around against Lyoto Machida. Many people say he won the first fight or became a draw based on his striking stats, but the three judges in the fight gave it to Machida when it went the distance. The second time around, he learned his lesson and scored a TKO win.

Machida vs Shogun should be epic, no matter who wins this time. I think Koscheck remembers he's a wrestler and avoids any serious threat from Daley in this fight, although I will be hoping he gets ko'd by Daley.

No I agree. Shogun did nothing wrong - it just sucks sometimes to see a good fighter get such a beat down.

Shogun really knows when to stop hitting someone because after he put machida to sleep he didnt follow up anymore even though the referee didnt stop it yet

You know what i liked, to me shogun won the first fight 48-47 and alot of people including himself felt he won. Here he beat machida but didnt take extra punches, he knew when he won and stomp instead of trying to make a point. How many people make the excuse oh there pro fighters and all the adrenaline. If shogun and machida can have respect enough for one another these other fighters should learn control aswell.

Just to add about the broken hand, just because its healed doesnt mean its fine. I damaged my knee when i was playing basketball and when i went back to try playing some summer league ball i didnt do the same thing as before not because it wasnt as strong but i was nervous. The mental aspect of high level sports is a huge thing. You have to admit that sparring and a real fight changes how you would feel about using your hand.

The problem with this fight is when lyoto landed nobody commented. But when shogun threw anything they acted like they where all devastating. So it's hard to notice machida winning.

Koscheck is most likely going to go for the take down, but I hope he tries to prove something by standing with Daley and gets KO'd!

Kos might be able to control Daley with his awesome wrestling. Hoping to see some nice take down defence from Daley. If he can do that, he'll most definitely win. Even Alves would beat Daley if his take down defence proves low-level. It is yet to be put to the test.

@uso218 True. But that doesn't mean kos should be allowed to do those things over and over. That's a pattern. He breaks the momentum of his opponent when the fight is stopped because of a phantom knee strike to the head. He gets to relax, regain his composure and take advantage of some much needed rest while getting out of a bad position. That's why he does it. I hope those tricks keep working for him in his title fight.

semtex just made my day lol honestly though wrestlers have a HUGE advantage its almost like a hole in mma. I would much rather watch a dude with an interesting character fight and do unexpected things than watch the wrestlers DEPEND on wrestling to win their matches.. i mean it is MMA not wrestling stand-alone. No dissrespect to koscheck though hes a good athlete

Shogun said that Machida left the Octagon with broken ribs, yet the medical suspension list said nothing about any rib injury for Machida. He obviously just made that up because he bruised Machida on the left side of his ribcage. I really like Shogun but he shouldn't make things up like that.

Whoever thinks Kos/Daley is going to a decision is nuts, this fight has Fireworks written all over it!

Machida won the 1st by UNANIMOUS DECISION. No one else's opinion counts and if Shogun were to walk away with the belt after the 1st one, he would lose it this time around. Machida will win this fight just like he won the 1st!

You know put Machida in his Karate gi and give him a red headband and put an eye patch on Shogun and they both look uncanningly like Ryu and Zagat from Street Fighter lol. Almost tooo approriate considering Machida is Karate and Shogun is Muay Thai.

I think Machida knew from the get go that he didn't win the fight. You could tell that he really didn't truly believe what he was saying after the first fight. He may have also gone into the second fight already mentally defeated and that's saying a lot for a fighter like Machida who's so mentally strong. He went into the second fight with nowhere else to go really. He knew Shogun had figured him out and he couldn't change his style all that much anyway. So, he was in a difficult spot.

I had Lyoto winning the first fight with Round 1-3: Machida Round 4-5: Shogun Shogun obviously won the second fight but I think if Machida sticked to his original game plan instead of rushing and being super aggressive at the first fight he could've performed much better (Not saying he would win but perform better) I would love to see a 3rd fight

Well fought by Shogun but something wasn't right with Machida this fight. Not making excuses but he seemed off from the start even though he hurt Shogun few times he seemed bit shooked even walking down. I don't understand what really went through his head but I'm sure this is not the last time you'll see Machida. Great fight it was very close and for a second before the knock out I thought Machida hurt Shogun badly with that knee in the chest.

@plapla12345 The good thing about the last Machida vs Shogun fight, was that it separated the fans who actually understands MMA and Martial Arts and the techniques that are employed, and the fans who just want senseless brawling. As you said, that's why we have WWE.

Shogun should have won, hand down but hopefully Machida will adapt and comeback better.

Ever since the first fight I've been waiting for this. I was certain Shogun had won that first one, and when they announced Machida won I was shocked. Even Machida himself looked surprised. This time around I bet they're both gonna be looking to finish the fight, and I'm expecting it to be much more exciting because of that. I don't care who wins as long as we don't get another bullshit decision.

@ReyGilliano I Know but this wasn't his first time using his knees in battle after surgery. He was completely recovered. Either way Shogun won last night and the other fight. But There will be a 3rd.

lol alot of people dont like koscheck but im rooting for him hes a great fighter and hes just getting better but if daley just connects one time i think its going to be lights out so koscheck might have to be smart and take it to the ground instead of trying to prove he can stand up with daley

I hope Kos does try to stand and bang with Daley. Yeah, he'll have a chance, but I'll give Daley the edge if he goes for that. That said, I hope Daley's been practicing his takedown defense like hell, because with Kos he'll need it. If the fight goes to the ground, Kos'll probably sub Daley. But hey... it's a sport of upsets. Who knows what's gonna happen?

Wow, Shogun has returned to his former self 100%. He came out and just assaulted Machida with a fuckin vengeance. I think he knew this time that he had figured out Machida in the 1st fight. Now It's gotta be either a match with the winner of Rashad/Rampage, or maybe even Anderson at some point. But whoever it is, is gona have their hands full. Shogun looks like he's back to his Pride glory days form.

I can't believe Lyoto is happy with his victory over Shogun, seemed like he lost 3 rounds to 2 to me, and about 80% of fighters and fans who saw the fight, even my Brother who is a huge Machida fan had though Machida lost. Paul Daley on his back = Turtle, Kos gets him down "It is all over!" Kos is better than Jake Shields and Shields already dominated Daley.

The Paul daley v Josh Koshcheck is the barn burner right there. Thats the fight Im most looking forward to. Ive always dissliked Kosh as a person but love him as a fighter. You can just see when he is punching someone he really wants to do some serious harm, He has that look what Ive only really seen in Cain Valasquez.. But Im British through and through and go with Daley all the way ! I also think Shogun is on fire right now, I know Lyoto is very good but I just think its Shoguns time.

I think Machida would have won both matches if it wasn't for his broken hand. No excuses I know but do ya'll know how much a broken hand effects a fight? He couldn't use his left arm much so he ended up paying for it. It takes at least 2 months to recover from a broken hand and even so you can't start using it right away. I'll like to see a rematch.

lyoto is smart but try to see every shigun fights look how smart he is look how he fights.... as he said lyotos style is perfect for shoguns

I hate how they make it look like the strikes were even in the fight clips.. The fight wasn't even that close. Shogun landed way more strikes.. An accurate clip would show a shit load of wicked leg kicks from shogun while machida ran away half the time.

a fricken great night of fights... amazing card, all the fights rocked. I picked every fight but Cote... it was awesome. I think Dana did the right thing cutting Bimbo Slice and the criminal punk, Daley. First time, in a long time, I agree with Dana: now MMA can go back to being a sport and not a freak show!
