On episode #3 of UFC 178 Embedded, the fighters arrive in Vegas and assemble at the MGM Grand. The close quarters create tension when opponents Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier cross paths and exchange words in the lobby. Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone discusses his legacy with the media, while UFC champ Demetrious Johnson, challenger Chris Cariaso and women’s bantamweight Cat Zingano talk about weighty issues with site coordinator Burt Watson. UFC Embedded is an all-access, behind-the-scenes video blog series focusing on the days leading up to the UFC 178 Pay-Per-View event headlined by the flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and Chris Cariaso on Saturday, September 27th.

Because Dustin is emotionally invested. If you care you will be affected. You have to learn how to not care. It's all about your mindset. All psychological. Conor is the Alpha. Dustin is the Beta.

Conor oozes self belief and swagger. He doesnt miss an opportunity to establish his dominance. Poirier couldnt handle the stare down and had to leave; poor guy looked frightened as fuck. People might think Conor is arrogant and disrespectful to his opponents but in reality he is engaging in psychological warfare with everyone in the featherweight division. At this stage a fight with Conor is bigger than a title shot.

John Moran McGreggor has bad habits with his hands low that works against scrubs but it may very well be his downfall Saturday. Rewatch McGreggor fight with Max .. he couldn't put Max away because Max fights smart similar to Dustin but Dustin is packing more power. I think Dustin is going to play it a little safe in round one and pick counters and open up in 2nd but who knows.. I can see it going either way it is a great match up. McGreggor was right when he said he is the main event tho hah..

Him staying there wouldn't have accomplished anything. Conor has already gotten under his skin, which is pretty obvious. It would only have become worse. Dustin is also a very emotional guy. He puts everything he has into this. He gets very bumped down when he doesn't live up to his own expectations. The Fightville documentary and his interview with Ariel after the Korean Zombie fight gives some pretty good insight into his character. While I don't see him winning this I'm still rooting for him. He's another opponent tailor suited for Conor's style. I recommend watching that documentary. After that you cannot but root for him

Dustin has broken already. Conor already has him right where he wants him. To all those that dislike Conor for being that way that he is...your reasoning is right there. His opponents fight with rage which is to his advantage. And he's climbed the rankings twice as fast as other fighters because he sells fights. Hate all you want but the boys got the talent and the charisma to be a superstar.

Dammit these episodes are still only under 8 mins long, too great of a show, every1 lets make a petition to the UFC to add 10 minutes to each episode of this great show! I bet they cut out alot of Cat Zingano scenes which is what I want to see, as well as other good stuff in these episodes that don't get fit in! Still great and of course Cat Zingano is in great ass shape, very much love that in all the female fighters. The explosiveness possible in all of the matchups combined is unbelievably high, just what you would expect from the UFC! Seriously no one losses on this night its gonna be FIREWORKS!

Poirier, my friend, I'm afraid it'll be you that will be doing the learning. McGregor has already broken you mentally. You will come in swinging like a windmill barely moving your head off the centre line like you usually do, full of unwanted emotions, and you will eventually crumble. Good luck to both fighters. Truly a fan of both, but McGregor is proving to be "PHENOMENAL", as he loves to say

To all those people bitching and moaning about McGregor's trash-talk and attitude, there are two things you need to realise: 1) McGregor is most effective as a counter-puncher. The whole game plan of a counter-puncher hinges on baiting the opponent into swinging first. His stance, his feints, his footwork. All smoke and mirrors. The trash talk is just another facet of the counter-puncher's strategy. Mayweather is a fine example. Ali, was a master of it. Rile the opponent up, trick them into swinging, and then lights out. 2) This is the fight BUSINESS. Like it or not, this type of attitude gets people talking and sells tickets. Don't believe me? Scroll the comments section on any UFC178 video and see which fight people are talking about. McGregor said it best himself: "you wanna see me whoop ass, or you wanna see me get my ass whooped. Either way, you're gonna wanna see me." The thing that surprises me, is how easily Poirier seems to be riled by McGregor. He has openly admitted that he needs to control his emotions better. And yet, he cannot seem to help getting emotional around Conor. That is a serious character flaw and could prove costly if he comes out swinging in the 1st round. Poirier keeps talking about the "15mins inside the cage", the fight "in 2 days, my friend". He doesn't seem to realise that the fight has already begun, and he's losing before the cage door even opens...

Conor is already winning the fight. Poirier keeps convincing himself he possesses some secret that he's finally going to unveil in the cage. His style is straight forward and wide open, he'll turn this fight into a grappling match once he gets touched up and whiffs at air a few times.

***** He's still in Dustin's head though. How can you deny that? Obviously Connor's getting to him. Look at the way Dustin's changed his tune. Look at his body language. You can't tell me he's not in his head.

I'm with the Connor band wagon, funny interviews, great self confidence and great fights. I wan't to see Connor winning as much as loosing. Imagine a post fight interview after a loss. Connor needs to get fathered.
