Sad that so many people only know Aldo for his fight with Mcgregor rather than his years of dominance as the featherweight champ. This should be a great fight.
@vikmitk7 жыл бұрын
he's a great fighter, no question. but unfortunately he lost a lot of respect as a man for being a sore loser.
@bmc7577 жыл бұрын
@smart water no, I don't think they really do. I think they mostly consider it special because they recognize that it was their favorite guy McGregor becoming champ with a super goddamn fast KO. I don't think they fully appreciate Aldo's significance, especially when so many people tend to shit on Aldo and act like he was only ever some chump.
@samsboxingexperiment21937 жыл бұрын
Aldo definitely deserves a tremendous amount of respect. That guy dominated for 10 years straight. Some of the hardest kicks in UFC history
@bmc7577 жыл бұрын
@smart water oh for sure, don't get me wrong: Conor McGregor is the best thing to happen to MMA and a tremendous fighter. It just confuses and frustrates me to see people seemingly shit on the people he's beaten (like some do with Aldo), since it ignores how great they are in their own right, but also ends up disparaging McGregor by not acknowledging the high quality of the opponents he's beaten.
@dmacizzel7 жыл бұрын
Wtf everybody knows how great Aldo is. That's why it was so crazy to see him get slept like that. Y'all got this preconceived notion that all Conor fans are casuals no matter how much proof is shown otherwise. The true casuals are the people that think Mighty has been fighting bums.

I'm rewatching this right before Holloway vs. Aldo 2: the Rematch (UFC 218, Dec 2017), just to review. I can't believe how accurate Dan Hardy was. Intention vs. Speed (Aldo apparently had a foot injury), how Aldo tried to reserve his energy, whereas Holloway went for a finish...even Frankie Edgar as the follow-up fight (changed because of injury). It wasn't just they were mentioned, but the thing Dan pointed out were the key issues. Inside the Octagon continues to be the reason I watch UFC.

FLoWER POWER Many real fans do, but the running Conor will not return because he knows that Aldo will not fight emotionally next time.
@obekini4837 жыл бұрын
FLoWER POWER , I wanna watch that too ...but it's unlikely to happen. And if at all there was a chance, Aldo would have to move up to lightweight. Can't see Conor making it down to featherweight again. It's actually amazing, he was able to fight at featherweight.

How the hell can they not mention Cub as a next challenger, he certainly deserves a rematch with either of these two. On the other hand we have Frankie here, who got dominted in a title match not so long ago. Nice analysis guys.
@brocky7 жыл бұрын
The one key point about Max Holloway's offense is that he doesn't retract his punches right away. When he punches he keeps his fist stuck on his opponents just long enough to use it as a target for his next punch. That's how he keeps his opponents in front of him. Aldo's ability to circle quickly will be a huge factor. Love both fighters and am a huge fan of Aldo but Max is dangerous. Gonna be a bloody fight.

Damn, people are savage with the 13 seconds thing haha! But i forgot that wrist grab turning knee Aldo did to Mendes, shit was a thing of fucking beauty. Aldo was on top for so long because his fight IQ was just on another level. Though i do believe he was juicing his entire career, until his world tour with Conor, where he was tested like never before. Once off the sauce, combined with the royal head fuck Conor, all it took was a "ping" from that left hand and he was exposed. But nonetheless he is one of the GOATs, and Aldo vs Holloway is an absolute banger! The most exciting FW fight since Aldo vs McGregor.

"You don't drill these kind of things," Dan Hardy on Jose Aldo grabbing Chad Mendes' wrist before kneeing him down. I think these are exactly the things Aldo would train. Highly onderused in mma, that's true. But in Tai Jitsu this is what we are constantly training: keep your opponent close, so you are able to attack him.

Cain Velasquez (2 title defenses, 4 win streak) got offered an immediate rematch after losing to Werdum, Ronda Rousey (7 title defenses, 12 win streak) was given an immediate rematch after losing to Holly, Chris Weidman (3 title defenses, 13 win streak) was offered a title shot after losing to Rockhold, Anderson Silva (10 title defenses, 17 win streak) offered a rematch after losing his belt, and Jose Aldo (9 title defenses, 10 years undefeated, 18 win streak) lost to Conor McGregor was not given a rematch, but a bullshit interim title shot with a false promise that if he wons he gets to have redemption on the guy who dethroned him. And people ask why Aldo is mad, everyone here but Anderson Silva are not even close to Aldo reputation and was given redemption.
@t1000-w7f7 жыл бұрын
First thing im noticing in this video is the difference in speed. When it showed aldo then went to max it was really obvious. Aldo is so quick to react in his movement and his striking. I cant see max beating him on the feet.. surely he must take him down and work some gnp
@masterdebater31337 жыл бұрын
Why do people try to discredit Conor's win vs Max like he had some *HUGE* experience advantage? -Conor is only 3 years older than Max -Conor made his pro debut (2008) only 2 years before Max (2010) -Conor started training grappling seriously the same time as Max (2010) and dominated on the ground -Max has been in the UFC longer than Conor And haters try to discredit Conor like it was a 30 year old vs a kid who never trained
@ishatonthecarpet7 жыл бұрын
