conrad sicalz Romero always fights in spurts, that’s his style. His cardio isn’t good because he’s a natural wrestler who carries a lot of bulk. He’s used to exploding for short periods of time. In the second and third he landed the cleaner, harder shots and took Costa down. Costa won the first but even the first was razor thin. Romero won that fight

He was clinical with it. A high level grappler on the ground is beautiful. Trading punches is so stupid and basic when you have a much easier way to win. Like, if you're just shit on the ground, okay, stand and strike. Conor, Adesanya, Wonderboy, Till... They have no choice but to stick to their skillset, but Romero is an Olympian with top shelf wrestling and he just refuses to do it. Romero doesn't have to fight by kick-boxing rules, this is MMA and yet, he's going to handicap himself and trade punches like an ass. Handicapping yourself and letting other people beat you is the mentality of a loser. He's on a losing streak. He hasn't won a fight since 2016. Fighters mentality? Lololol. That's entertainment mentality. that's not respecting your career as a fighter.

Ross Geller, PhD, by the “Tavares treatment” he means to heavily pressure him the whole fight. Not charging in just staying close and creating pressure. Tavares didn’t win but if a good fighter like Romero applies heavy pressure it’s harder to deal with.

@@TaeLS430 Costa won 1 and 2, and didn't lose 3 by 10-8. Romero loses every single fight on points because he just never fights to win on points. Explosive grenade power but not volume. If you are conscious at the end of the fight and keep getting in some shots, you win.
