This fight proved everyone wrong, the people who said Charles was a quitter, were proved wrong, the people who said Chandler couldn't hang in, were proved wrong when he made Charles fight his heart out. Respect to both these men.

Stoic Spawn Didnt get dominated in the fight. Showed he has a great amount of skill, and that he deserves fights at a high level. Unfortunately got caught with a great shot from an amazing fighter. @@Etorres21 Mmm I’m not sure about that, he throws his punches too low leaving himself open for a counter. Don’t get me wrong he’s a great fighter and could’ve finished Charles, ground defense was phenomenal by Chandler as well. Oliveira just came out on top. I’m sure he’ll get another shot at it. Excited to see more of his fights and how he does.

@@openmind2546 That’s exactly right. I was the same way. The way he was being promoted coming into the ufc made definitely rubbed a lot of people including myself the wrong way. And that’s that. We never bothered to go listen to this man talk or looked up videos of what he’s like. Lol. We just had our opinions based off this. after seeing the fight, class, positivity and humbleness he brings to the table, you really can’t help but like the guy. Especially when you realize he’s a real one.

@@oculosis_5594 It couldn't have been Justin, because his last fight was not only a finish loss, but a finish loss to the champion. If they wanted Justin instead of Dustin who refused to fight, they needed him to win and possibly wait another few months to make the title fight against Charles. Chandler stepped up, the other ones were booked. If anything, Dustin made things more complicated.

His eyes when he asked him about taking in the moment before the fight. This is what the UFC needs more of:fighters who appreciate the fans, the environment, the opportunity and are all action, confident yet humble and gracious in defeat. I feel sorry for whoever has the belt when he gets his next chance at the title.

My first inclination was to root against him when his first fight in the UFC was against a top guy in Hooker. But after that I went back and watched all his old fights. And every since then he continues to win me over with his humility, clear love of the game and respect he shows his fellow competitors.

I watched the WEC and have followed UFC since before the first TUF show ever aired. I meant I was inclined to root against him bc he leap frogged several top contenders to get a top guy in his first fight. Huge Congratulations to Charles as well. He is also a very good man, even before the fight all he said was “whoever wins is just the better fighter than night and god gifted him that.” One of my favourite ufc moments ever was Charles and Tony being together backstage hugging and talking to each other. He’s so humble, kind and an amazing fighter. His personality is displayed in the cage it’s beautiful. I am from North America he made me a fan this fight,

I did not see Oliveria surviving, thought he was almost done. Definitely needed to let him back up as he was hurting him bad on the feet in that first round. Great fight. Impressive by Charles, especially surviving that first round.

@Hit Quixote not really gonna watch it. Chandler left his hand low as he was stepping back after the body shots in the inside and Oliveira threw a counter as Chandler was stepping back. Chandler didn't see that coming and it caught him good.

Chandler isnt even joking when he says " i pretty much gave my back to oliveira" because he did...super impressive he was able to give up his back to one of the best ground game opponents in the business and still got out...and didnt just get out but flipped the position to one that benefited him. I liked both these fighters, happy to see Oliveira get gold but a ton of respect for Chandler. What a time to be a fight fan, especially in the lightweights. This isnt over for Chandler, sucks to see him lose but i hope his fans keep their heads up. This guy is a seasoned veteran with a ton of composure. He assess's the situations well..he will correct his mistakes and be back. No shame in losing to Oliveira.

That's his M.O. The guy is super exciting to watch. His fights in Bellator were really the only reason to watch Bellator sometimes. He will get another shot. I think he's probably one of the top 3 in the division. Oliviera just had way more experience, especially in the UFC and fighting at the highest level in this promotion. Chandler had been ko'd before, but I still didn't expect it to happen here. I predicted a submission win for Charles.

Great display on his second fight in the ufc! He did what he said he did and put it on Olivera! Olivera just a true champion heart as well and kept his composure. Fight was so short but had everything. Great fight to both of them

yes i thought chandler was going to finish him on early round 2 .never seen a main event championship fight with this level of back and forth. this fight was like a high fying prowrestling style cruiserweight match.

Chandler is an absolute weapon. He almost starched oliveira in the first round after only having a total of like 3 mins in the ufc. He’s going to be champ someday he’s an animal
