Tony still came to fight and he looked damn good till that front kick landed personally I think he won the first, but Chandlers corner is so smart and noticed the tendencies and punted the fuck out of his head. If it wasn't for Tony refusing to tap to that armbar, it would be 11 straight wins with 11 straight finishes. That's freaking better than anything Khabib had ever done. 2 more wins and he'll tie Khabib's win streak in UFC and if he wins more than that, he'll have a better legacy than Khabib. He already beat 2 ppl Khabib defended the belt against (Dustin & Justin), He got the belt from someone better than Khabib's opponent at that time (Al). I'd say let Oliviera fight Islam next. If Islam wins, Islam would have a better legacy, if Oliveira wins, call Khabib out of retirement for that 30th fight. Would be fire.

Needs to be a limit on what can be cut at point of signing contracts. Oliveria is noticeably bigger than all three of his last opponents. Bit like Khabib, much easier to choke out a naturally smaller opponent than someone of equal size/weight.

Charles has a tendency of absorbing big shots and being dropped early, but somehow finds a way to regroup and turn the tides. These types of performances are more impressive than just a one-sided beatdown because we see him getting tested and his ability to adapt to adversity.

Shout out to this translator he’s literally the best I’ve seen, for most foreign language speakers I always find that the translator never truly conveys their message 1 to 1 for their fighters but I like how he’s translating feels more natural and accurate.

Dude he missed weight. That’s not corruption. That’s Charles missing weight. If he didn’t try to cut so much to make 155 he easily could’ve cut the last half pound. This is no one’s fault but his. @@dbo4506 Charles doesn't speak English, so the commission exploited it to the fullest since they get 20% of his money, and the rules according to Arizona, and various states, would have allowed him to have some more time along with looking into this problem. My guess is that the commission doesn't know their own rules. When it's a championship fight, the commission must look at various options and make a deal with Charles, which could be to give him more time, and at worst making him defend his belt in Arizona the next time as well if he gets cleared. Something was fishy about all of this. He has never missed weight at 155...

it's almost like he fights so pressure heavy from the first bell so his opponent is forced to throw their best biggest shots with Max power so he can see their best combos and gauge the timing. from there he gets up hits em back and chokes them out. fucking beast. I hope he reigns for years. I love watching him fight. THAT WAS HIS 2ND TITLE DEFENSE!

Charles is proof that Khabib retired too early, would have been very interesting to see someone with a threat on the ground for Khabib, lets not forget since winning the belt from Al he only fought strikers. (Al, Connor, Dustin, Gaethje) sure khabib was dominant but I wouldnt see him ragdolling olives like he has his last opposition, Dustin caught Khabib in a pretty tight guillotine, I'm almost certain Charles would find a sub w/ so much ground time vs khabib. And we're not gonna compare who's standup is better because that's just obvious.

Just to even imagine khabib vs Oliveira… this match up would be the most historic match up in ufc history in terms dominance and skill… we counted out oliveira before but he has proven his dominance with his win tonight over Gaethje tonight. So many times we’ve seen on the media that Charles is questioned. But tonight Charles is amongst the greatest. He is amongst the name of the khabibs, the gsp, the Jon Jones, the Daniel Cormiers (congrats a career any of use could ever imagine). And that’s because of the sole purpose of being questioned of being the great ones and Charles proved that tonight. Man… khabib vs Oliveira… I’m leaning more toward Olivera because of the retaliation he will have against khabibs masterful ground game. No one will ever know though..

CHARLSE IS AND he would out strike Khabib ... so Khabib game plan would just be the same as alllll the other fights....they would need to fight best out of 5 to decide who is the best. because I dont see the guy with the most submissions being afraid of the ground...but i do see Khabib NEEDING to go the ground.

Brazil is responsible for the creation of mixed martial arts + the UFC in the first place - it's quite a blessing to be born there and able to learn from the greatest ground fighters in the world. Charles has a strong history behind him, and he inspires a lot of people here in Brazil. Shame on the UFC! They screwed this man over. Charles Oliveira is the real champion, and there have been numerous times when commissions simply ignored when champions weighed in slightly heavier. UFC has the power to put the belt back on Charles, and they didn't.
