Ya, Aldana looks like a serious condender, and the way Mexico has been coming on strong these days I wouldn't be shocked if she pulls off the upset. On the other hand, it's hard to imagine Nunes losing twice in 2 years.

This was so refreshing. I love Amanda Nunes and Irene seems so cool. Mutual respect - no immature back and forth like with Pena. Pena is so arrogant...too arrogant to be swinging her arms all wild and getting knocked down and getting a 50-43 score.

@@ehianeta64 don't ever count anyone out, especially someone like yair with a solid chin, super unpredictable and hard to even train for not to mention a challengers always going to be more hungry than a dominant champ.. valentina was suppose to mop the floor with alexa, nunes with pena 1, barao with TJ, dom with cody, usman with leon, all were suppose to dominate their challengers haha, i feel 60/40 with volk winning but can never count anyone out

This is a much better fight than the Nunes/Peña trilogy. As long as Aldana doesn't choke, it should be fun. She's one of the best boxers in WMMA (I rank her at #2), but unlike Rose and Alexa (who I rank at #1 and #3 respectively), she actually goes for frequent body shots. Using those against a gasser like Nunes might be effective.

@@The_Isaiahnator 😂 Amanda has much better distance management with her jab, better footwork, better defense than Aldana who doesn't move her head, faster hands, better straight punches, more explosive, more power, is better at setting up her punches and was easily landing on Irene when she tried to throw or move forward. Every time Aldana somewhat tried to enter the pocket, she lost the exchange. She was fighting like that because she couldn't get by Nunes jab and she was getting busted up by it and she was gonna eat counters whenever she moved forward or throw, same thing against Holly Holm. She relies on her opponents making mistakes and Nunes can stay precise and actually set up her punches. She's a 100% boxer than Irene

Nunes has been living and training in the US for over 10 years. This is really Mexico vs USA, Lobo Gym vs ATT (currently she doesn't train in ATT, but she's an ATT product, although she obviously fights out of her new gym)

@@Bigfoozie You're right, Brazilian vs Mexican, but not Brazil vs Mexico. Nunes has been living and training in the US for over a decade and she's a Florida product (mainly ATT). Aldana represents Mexico's MMA level, Mexico's quality of life, Mexico gyms,..., everything, and it's not easy. If Nunes lived and trained in Brazil she would be 2-9 in the UFC, and even she would agree with that, that's why she moved to the US to have a higher-quality of life (diet, infrastructure, physical recovery, doctors, PI, managers, strength and conditioning, 1st-world facilities, among hundreds of more) and higher-level MMA

If Aldana hasn't made big improvements since her last fight it could be a bad night for her bc Macy Chiasson was getting the better of her in her last fight before she landed that upkick. But 1st it's the weightcut, she has fought at catchweight quite a bit and hasn't felt 135lb in a while. We'll see.

Hard to not feel a little $hitted on as a Canadian. All this talk about Australian, U.K. and Brazilian fans showing up for their shows, UFC forget about us? And now first show back to Canada since pre-Covid, this is the card we get? In Vancouver? The co-main and main feel more like 2 co-main's. Then Dana sends Jon to do the press-conference. smh This card is great if it's been a year or 2nd show of the year. But first one since 2019? Definitely expected more. The most gifted promoter in the history of sports can't find a way to give 1/2 of Canada's population on the 401 corridor a show? Buffalo? Detroit? Clearly missing something here but sheesh, pretend to care at least.
