It's insane how much can change in such a short amount of time. Watching these u see changes only frames apart. These 2 r such high level MMA fighters. This one can go either way. I will always love Volk. I just feel like Ilia Topuria is one of the best up & coming fighters right now. Neither guy should feel bad about losing because they really are pushing their skills to the ultimate test. I'm glad we are seeing 2 of the most skilled fighters face each other.

Ilia will either turn out to be a future great or crumble to volk. Ilia hasn't faced anyone near the top yet. I don't know why ufc fast tracks these guys because it can sometimes completely ruin their careers. Pereira is different of course because of his level of experience.

Casuals like Dan's commentary because he sounds confident. His striking breakdown is solid but the second there is wrestling or ground work he says the dumbest shit. Like a WWE fan commentating Olympic wrestling

Tbf Emmett telegraphs his punches and lunges in a lot more than Volk does. Volk is a clinician on the feet. The clinic he put on Holloway in their last fight, Zombie, and Ortega was something else.

Another issue with Emmitt is he is openly grimacing before he throws. Ilya read him like a book on that first counter. From side control to crucifix was seamless. Wanna see Ilya get the job done. The belt belongs to no man or woman. Change is inevitable. Very cool he acknowledged fellow coach Joe Lopez, Volks coach and a great one

Yes Emmitt telegraphs too much and lunges in too much leaving himself open. Volk has outclassed much better strikers like Holloway on the feet. Every fights different of course and we know anything can happen yet Yair finished Emmit and Volk finished Yair. Volk gets it done and reminds everyone he’s the best at 145. He’s 35 years old that’s prime for UFC figures actually. People acting like he’s 45. .

dont worry, he fought makhachev the first time with a full camp and did not get finished, had a decent performance aswell. there is no size factor here, both are short men, 45er's with volk having a reach advantage

Volk and the Spaniard look like fucking street fighter 2 characters. I was not hyped for this fight until yesterday and I hope the story turns out with the Wylie vet humbling the lavish and stunning up and comer. I swear UFC is the evolution of sports combat and I’m here for it, such a pleasure especially considering the state of other main sports today

I love these "experts" who never watched Ilia outside the UFC and think he's just an elite striker. Can't wait for him to prove he is an even better wrestler, almost dagestani-like levels of control but with actual elite striking... Great breakdown and very entertaining. Clearly these two are the top of the game and have evolved into beasts. Both can finish if the other makes a mistake. Pushing everything off the table that has been said, I believe this fight is to be won mentally. Who is completely together and focused upon stepping into the octagon.

Emmet throws big looping shots and throws power into every shot. Volk is way more technical and throws straight shots. He also mixers his kicks and takedowns in to keep you guessing. Topuria is going to have his hands full if he tries stepping into the danger zone with volk

You should also put in the clips of these guys getting hit, it would make for an all around better break down..Their weaknesses, because they both get hit, and both have similar weaknesses..Topuria is great and I was a fan long before he got into the UFC, but I think Volk is going to systematically beat him up, probably ground and pound TKO him, but Topuria is young, he'll be back for that title..Ofcourse Topuria has that boxers chance, and his boxers chance is worth more than most..

I totally agree they should address weaknesses. That's actually where I give Volk the edge, aside from being stronger and more experienced I feel like he's a little more disciplined and rarely finds himself out of position where as Ilia takes more chances and can get out of position and get hit, although he seems like he gets better with that every fight

@@eddiehauser6661 Volk is alot more disciplined, and strategically smarter, it's why he is unbeaten as a feather weight, fighting the best of the best for several years now..Topuria has never fought at that level yet, 7th ranked Emmet, 10th ranked Mitchell, and he is improving quickly with every fight..But, I see the same glaring holes that Volk has mentioned..It's a shame Topuria didn't take a slower more strategic path to the belt..But, if he pulls it off, then I guess he did the right thing, but I doubt that very much..Either way, it's great experience and pay day..Volk's movement and distance control and decision making, shot selection is on another level..I do worry about a Volk with something to prove..Topuria got caught pretty good by Emmet a few times in that fight, and rocked in the 5th, although he wore it well...

Big Volk fan and rooting for him of course. However I have a bad feel about the upcoming fight with Ilia. Shouldn't have taken the Islam fight cause of the Ko specifically it's not that he just lost to a decision again, which is a big mental hit to Volks momentum. Ilia is young and hungry and have showed good hits. If Volk somehow manages to pull this off , he has to retire. He surely stays to stay active , to gain as much money as he can, but another loss will mess with him even worse. Better cut his losses and retire. Hope he wins this
