Agree. Their fight at 145 was super close until Ilia found the shot. Max also has the chance to come back at 155 and show that his true prime is at lightweight. Ilia won fair and square but Max at 155 might be a different beast. Like Alex at 205 is just different

Fighting lower weight class champions like Volk or Holloway its very difficult both physically in terms of speed and mentally, they are better than many 155 lbs fighters due to speed difference yet when they beat them people don't give credit and just say they beat 145 lbs fighter, we see this difficulty again.

I don’t care man. I don’t like when fighters go up in weight then go back down. It happened to Roy Jones Jr. and that’s where I believe his body started to fail. I’m not saying it will happen to Max. And shit if I was Max I would’ve taken the fight too. But I believe if the fight was at 155. It would be a different story. Yes I know that straight right hand would’ve hurt anybody. But more weight less on the body to recover. I hope we get to see them fight at 155. I personally believe that Max’s makes a run at 155. And I also believe he hits way harder than he did in featherweight. But I don’t know man I’m laying down in bed. What do I know. Max fan for life call it corny or whatever. I don’t care 🤷🏻♂️

I’m a Holloway fan so not saying this to hate, but this position at 17:28 is exactly where Topuria caught him. Max threw a knee instead of a kick but the position in the same, except Topuria countered him from here whereas Gaethje was already hurt
