And the very next fight he got his peaches pounded by Strickland's girth for 5 rounds straight. 5 rounds in pound town with the guy Alex melted in less than 2 minutes. 😅😂😂
3 ай бұрын
He took Alex's own arrows and rained down on him with them, then grabbed the quiver and broke the remainder of them and threw them down. Definately a badass celebration. Izzy beat Alex with his own type of game, fast shots you cannot possibly see coming or have time to react to. His timing was exactly the sort of timing Alex has been getting guys with, fast shots that are not able to be deflected because there's no telegraphing. The shit just hits before they even see it happening.

Its a great rivalry especially because izzy has done this against a person he lost to 3 times. It takes alot of bravery to go out there to win after all those tries against such a scary dude, izzy just is a weird human being while he thinks he is the hot sht and he is a bad winner thats why people try to undermine it because he is not respectful unless he gets his ass beat.

The 1-2 left-right was lightning fast, the left was just to keep the head of Pereira at enough distance to be able to generate enough speed to make his punch powerful. Izzy hasn't brute power in his fists but his speed is a power multiplier and if you leave him enough space to generate speed, you can be KO'ed even if you are an unstoppable terminator like Pereira. Alex’s kid directly insulted a world class fighter and the guy talked shit back. Nothing bad happened, no one got hurt, and the kid learned that people notice when you talk shit and when you talk trash, you put yourself on their radar. Not a bad lesson to learn.

Rematches between intelligent strikers often feature spectacular knockouts like this, adapting to the other mans tendency's and knowing when to find him off guard. IZZY showing incredible IQ, he knew Pereira loves to pressure guys into this situation against the cage, it was the situation that got him knocked out in the first fight. Alex striking is so accurate and powerful that he either completely shreds up someone's guard and finds the chin behind it, or they are forced to have to strike to back him up and expose themselves. Izzy knew he would be in this situation again, and that he was going to be exposed either way and exploding off the cage into him was risky but Alex would not see it coming and he was on the danger zone already. Many fighters would've been KO or run away at all costs here, very few could get any damage in never mind a KO.

@@jengofetlupa44he only shelled up to bait Alex, gotta remember how the first fight went. Alex did the same thing by cornering Izzy against the cage to get the knockout, Izzy realized what Alex was trying to do and instead of just countering and staying in the pocket, he plays possum after the low knee, jab, and hook, and opens back up to counter once he see’s Alex let his guard down(hand wise and mentally) thinking he had him in the same position as before. Izzy’s strategy was based on countering, it was likely only way they found to beat Alex, have him drop his guard when he goes for the kill. Alex is that good on the feet and Israel knows it. It wasn’t luck at all, it was a risky play but the one that will take them the win. High risk high reward. Notice now how Alex has become a more patient fighter instead of rushing to kill. Israel showed a hole in his game and now Alex is an even higher killer.

Well it was definitely scary seeing him backed up against the cage again "but" it's how Izzy likes to counter strike, let them "think" that they got him where they want him. I saw and understood exactly what he was trying to do and why he protest after the first fight got called, he was ready to spring up or move to one side and counter strike Alex but I definitely saw from another angle why the ref called it, pretty hard to say if he was selling the shots or hanging tough on literally all of them until an opening
@OoLiiMiiT3D
@OoLiiMiiT3D 3 ай бұрын
@@ThatScytheHe really was badly hurt in the first fight, but he probably would have found a way to survive (maybe not). The fact that he ate a clean left hook and was still able to read Alex' shots and move with them/ take steam off of them is very impressive. It was a dangerous situation and he wouldnt have caught Alex anymore, but maybe he would have gotten out of there and survived the last round. If not though he would have been flatlined. This fight here though showed how fast Izzy is with his reactions. He wasnt even playing possum, that was just another "cool thing" to say. He really was hurt and got pressured against the fence, but he knew exactly Alex' weakness, because he caught him like that in basically every fight they had. So Alex could have won that fight if he picked Izzy apart slower, but he saw how Izzy backed up and went for the kill. Big mistake with a counter striker like Izzy.

Honestly, considering Alex’s amazing run to being champ in two weight class, this KO, which was already such an amazing KO and one of the best moments I can remember in my 24 years of watching UFC, has aged like fine wine for Izzy. This combo with him perfectly throwing that quick jab which was just enough to interrupt Alex followed by a mean right where he used the cage to add momentum to his punch, followed by catching Alex again on the way down and then giving him one more hammer fist from the gods while Alex was on the ground which completely put the lights out, man, what a moment!

Izzy has to be the only guy that's been able to take that left hook clean in MMA without being fully KO'd by it. His ability to take a punch is seriously underrated.

Did you see how he acted after Alex called him out at 295? He's happy with his one victory over him and doesn't want to tempt fate

@@Ar1140 Izzy didn't even make 205 when he fought there against Jan, he weighed in at 196 I think. He ain't cut out for that weight, and he doesn't cut much to make MW. He's a prime example of a guy fighting where he should fight. He'd be an absolute destroyer at 170 too with his style and power.

Hearing the “he’s falling for everything Iz” then straight into a left hook feint where Alex immediately reacts to it is so satisfying. You gotta just start walking Izzy down if he is stopping you like that.
