@@franzschwengel6790 I agree, but if you recall, the original main event was Jones vs Stipe. When that fell apart, they stepped up (ik they were already on the card, but still). Here for 303, the main was meant to be McGregor/ Chandler and that fell apart, here they are again willing to step in and save the card

@@Gradymeister Rakić did more damage to Jiří's leg than Poatan did, and Jiří out autism'd him to a win. Leg kicks (against Jiří anyway) mean nothing if you just don't respect them. Spectrum Samurai for the win.

Problem with Jiri is that he doesn't seem to have his old power anymore, probably because of the injury. He used to have that absolute touch of death. People compared him to Rumble a lot, and his KO ratio was actually a lot higher. He was hitting Alex so much, but just wasn't hurting him. If he doesn't regain his old mass, he's losing again.

@@TheStraightestWhitest I just think UFC guys are at the very highest level of durability so it takes a lot more to put out all of these guys at the top especially. Alex despite his age is now cutting a lot less so he probably is at his most durable self vs Jiri, especially this next fight he has 2 weeks to cut like 22 pounds which for Alex is very light work compared to what he used to cut and against Jamahal he looked so big and fast, he looks just super fresh and hydrated nowadays, that helps so much which how much it takes to get knocked out.

@@josh1180 Well, that's what I'm talking about. He is very humble. Even the commentators unanimously agreed that it was early stoppage. Jiri wasn't knocked out per se, he rolled and got up instantly after the referee stopped the fight. He wasn't " knocked out ".

100%. I think it has a lot to do with the fact that he surprised him with the counter right hook first, and when he was starting to sink and his head was rotating THEN he caught him with the left when his head was going the opposite direction

He won’t be able to with his wide, front foot heavy stance. Alex’s low kicks are too fast to check from Jiri’s position. BUT Jiri can intercept him with a punch while he’s kicking, like he did with the right hand in round 2

its honestly more the placement and the way he loads it. If you look that left hook is literally right on the button to cause a spike of electricity to the CNS, he gets great whiplash by the angle Jiri's heads moving and where he places the shot. Its the mark of a world elite striker, also the technique is just so solid ofc he hits like a hammer.

We will see if Jiri focused his training on dealing with those leg kicks which has been his biggest weakness. Both of these guys are absolute killers and I think this is a much closer fight than people think. Cant wait for this battle!
