But in terms of MMA skills, I don't think anyone could out skill Charles. (If Islam had not hurt Charles badly, from Charles stupid jump kick, to send him to the mat before going down on top of Charles, I doubt Islam would have been able to submit Charles on pure BJJ maneuvers alone, with both being unhurt...) People who think a 5'7" Ilia --- very skilled but someone having NEVER even fought a Top 15 at 155... a guy who also much smaller & shorter (smaller and shorter than even Michael Chandler, the Division I guy whoCharles, a non-wrestler, has NO problem taking to the mat repeatedly) --- people who think Ilia would just walk through Charles and, then, on to walking through Arman, Islam (at 155 or at 170, "it doesn't matter to Ilia," ad nauseam)... they are not serious, grown up, combat sport fans... they are more like WWE fans and 8 year-olds who are still into hero worshiping. At 35, Charles is today 3-4 years removed from this FIRST Michael Chandler fight; but his SECOND Michael Chandler fight STILL should tell us Charles still is NOT out of his prime, yet...

And Charles is wayyyyy bigger than ilia. ilia was getting punished by Max with jabs and kicks and Olivera is taller and bigger than Max. Not to mention ilia has NEVER been tested by a grappler at the elite level. Arman almost got choked out twice by Charles and he actually can wrestle but ilia on the other hand cannot. You are gonna be disappointed when your boy gets choked out

His technique is so crisp that he’s going to have that pop anywhere. In every oliveira fight he’s gotten dropped. He won’t stand back up from getting dropped by Topuria. I can guarantee you that.
