I love Dos Santos during the press conference. Even though he's on Anderson's team, he smiles and laughs at everything Chael says.

Silva is a legend. The way he just shows no fears of Sonnen, laughing at him, paying no attention to Sonnen's stare-downs or bad talk... Hes immensity! :P

That was a terrific main event last night, and a great show all-in-all, but that ending was such a buzz-killer. Sonnen tapped exactly as he did at 2:16. Get Herb to ref the main events from now-on.

The first 0:05 - 1:15 shows the Brazilian UFC fighters in one room and the American fighters in the other. The Brazilians were in a large room while the Americans were in a smaller room and appeared to have been sitting in a circle. Interesting.

Chael sonnen is my fav fighter now! he won a lot of respect, the guy was fighting in a UFC main event for the first time ever and he puts on a show like that against a fighter like Anderson Silva. Loved all the pre fight hype and trash talk done by him haha the post fight press conference was funny too!

I'm more excited about Fitch and Alves, Nelson and JDS then the main card but this will still be great.

i love how some people remarked on the fact that sonnens face looked worse than andersons after the fight but 99% of the 1 million punches and elbows that chael landed to andersons face where to the jaw,punches to the jaw dont leave cuts and bruises...
@funme7al115 жыл бұрын
The reason Silva was so bad is because he came in so cocky. He ended up getting rocked and being battered for the whole first round. It's hard to recover from that, and it can really get in someone's head. Luckily for Silva, he ended up pulling out a submission to get the win.

Silva's reactions to Chael during the presser were classic. I'm so happy he was able to put a beating on Anderson for 4 and a half rounds. Maybe now Anderson will take his position as the UFC Middleweight Champion a little more serious. Chael wins that fight 9/10 times. Anderson gets to keep the belt another year at the most. If Belfort doesn't beat him first, Chael will get him in the rematch.
@iurhviusdfavhi15 жыл бұрын
It cant be denied, Chael sonnen is a badass, he was better on the feet and on the ground than anyone ive ever seen Silva fight, Chael dominated, from the first second till the very lucky triangle.

@Wenutz he backed every word he said, he didnt say he would beat silva, he said he has the skills to beat him, and he was dominating the stand up (well, maybe not dominating, but he was one of the first in the ufc to rock silva) and he took silva down at will like he said he would, unfortunately he ended up getting caught, but he showed that he is one of the best fighters in the mw div., only reason he lost was because of his bad sub defense

@jmwwd Fair enough Silva did not use much tecnique during the fight, but at that very moment that Sonnen tapped, Silva did use such a good skill, applied very well in a brief, appropriate and perhaps the only possible gap that Sonnen gave to him for more than 4 rounds. You just don't do it only being lucky, that is my opinion!

@TheJonny190 Didn't back up what he said? He said he would take the fight to Silva and Silva would know he was in a fight afterwards. He did take the fight to Silva and I'm pretty sure Silva felt it afterwards. I believe Silva even acknowledged this right after by telling Chael that he won or was a winner or something like that. Chael stated he could lose going in, but the fight would be brought to Silva. I don't see how you can say Chael didn't back up his words.

@jmwwd I agree with you in some points. Sonnen was the best fighter at that night, but that is not the whole point in the business, the real goal is to be the winner, and not always the guy is both, the best fighter and the winner. The very little I know about Sonnen, I really think he would want to be the winner rather than the best at that night! I am brazilian and know Silva even before he joined ufc, he is not my favourite person in the world at all, but I do find him an incredible fighter..

gsp vs chael sonnen... what do you think????
@flexjohnson815 жыл бұрын
chael sonnen said it was going to be one way or the other. Either he was going to get destroyed or he was going to destroy anderson. He destroyed anderson and still lost and that's what makes a champion a champion finding the way to win no matter what the circumstances are

He backed up the talk, if it wasn't for a lucky submission he did everything he said. He kicked Anderson's ass for 4 and a half rounds. He is freaking hilarious! I could listen to him for hours.
@youngloenoe15 жыл бұрын
@hoodfigga33 I dont recall Sonnen with the belt...he did talk the talk but the only walk he walked was the one home, empty handed and most likely covering his big mouth.
@thalifechanga15 жыл бұрын
Even with all the trash talk that I actually found more valid than political, I had Sonnen to Win, I even put on my FB, that he was bout to "shock the world" and DAMMMIT if we didnt come close, (which means nothing), but who has a highlight of Sliva thats showing him being dominated (on the ground for that matter) 95% of a fight, any true fans that didnt like Sonnen, should hopefully respect him--and this is coming from a HUGE, Anderson S. fan!
@LoadedKlip15 жыл бұрын
If Sonnen doesn't win (most likely scenario) ... he could start his next career as a stand up comedian.

Probably more like 2000 - 2009 - dont forget He beat Tim Sylvia and Arlovski - both has beens now but were UFC champs then and both universally regarded as top 5 best world HW's at that time. Tim Sylvia despite him appearing as a joke now - do you remember his fight against Mir and had his arm snapped - it was flailing about like a snapped twig and he was fighting with ref to fight on - he was no joke 5+ yrs ago.

All i can say is Chael is funny as hell lol
@ThomasDailey15 жыл бұрын
@samme79 Good question, but here's a better. one. Even if Sonnen did tap, why didn't he protest about it? I mean we are talking about Chael Sonnen are we not.
@JOBOB33515 жыл бұрын
@reckingball there won't be one. and sonnen lost in the exact same way in the exact same position with the exact same move that he lost to ten times b4.

I was rooting for Sonnen, he talked the shit and he backed it up, hands down Sonnen won the first 4 and half rounds, but he could not finish. Anderson Deserved that win. I m just happy that Anderson is not immortal anymore

I love how Chael corrects Ed's translation, but he can't pronounce his last name correctly lol. 3:02 "Your not the only one in the room who speaks uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (what the fuck do they speak down there in Mexico?) Portuguese" lmao

@Imetalman200015 жыл бұрын
I'm reading some of these comments.. lol.. someone actually wrote, "Sonnen would've won if he didn't tap out." Thats like saying Sonnen Would've won if he didn't lose"...
@SammyJ2115 жыл бұрын
Sonnen is definately the most interesting man in the world, he's fuckin brilliant!
@ThomasDailey15 жыл бұрын
@samme79 I don't really have a point. I was making a witty comment, but one that obviously requires some knowledge of Chael's career. Chael in his past fights has shown that he'll deny tapping when it's clear as day to everyone that he tapped. He did it in his Paul Filho fight. So I was joking around by saying a better question is when Sonnen tapped, why didn't he deny it afterwards (like he's done in past fights).
@OnRockIT15 жыл бұрын
St-Pierre probably wouldn't go be as intense as Chael Sonnen, but he would land shots that counted...and he wouldn't get caught.
@NEFF15315 жыл бұрын
i garentee you that chael trainned his ass off for this fight while anderson just relax and trained and he still won lol
