@DCshandle The 2nd fight was very close. And also, her best striking days were in Muay Thai, not mma. She has 11 overall belts in Muay Thai/kickboxing. 6 times world Muay Thai champion, 4 times European kickboxing champion, 1 time world kickboxing champion. I think she looks way better in her Muay Thai fights in terms of striking, but obviously that's because in MMA she has to change things and can't fight the same way like she does in Muay Thai because it would leave her vulnerable for takedowns and stuff. Plus when striking is not the only thing you focus on, and you have to do wrestling and grappling in your training, the world class striking might deteriorate a bit. Rose would get KO'd in Muay Thai/kickboxing. Just my take on this 🤷‍♂️

This was a really fun stylistic matchup. Their strengths were so clearly defined and both stuck to them throughout the fight: Joanna had superior striking and cage generalship, but Jessica was stronger and more powerful. Wherever Joanna set up her jab, she could tee off with impunity or play matador. But whenever Jessica got her hands on Joanna, she was a credible threat. And both had unlimited cardio, so waiting for one or the other to get tired was out of the question.

definitely one of the best fights I've seen. I am getting older,,, and don't always get to follow my passions... like I used to. I boxed in high school (P.A.B.A.) in Houston, TX in 1980/81. Either of these two girls could have crushed my high-school, welterweight ass. But what would be better is if they both did, at the same time. ;) Two world-class warriors. Loved the respect at the end... and throughout. Absolutely the right unanimous decision... but... wow... so close. Tall Bear vs. Inimitable Pit Bull.

However, my greatest honor and pleasure would be to spar with her. I know I'd get my ass kicked (at least my ass :D) but just imagine - sparring with a legend and your role model.. I'm Polish, so maybe I'll get a shot someday. Yeah, I can't deny it's one of my biggest dreams. Love you, Joanna!

Andrade was a beast that I think didn't use her strengths the right. She should be a cardio blitz monster with deadly ground and pound. Against a goat here, Andrade stayed outside waiting too long. That played to Joanna's strengths. Andrade should have been blitzing and staying closer. Instead, she allowed a goat to break her down with precision strikes, zapping her strength. I always liked Andrade, but I thought she wasn't coached right. Not knocking Andrade in this fight, but it looks like she had the wrong game plan for a goat like Joanna. Her bully character proved more convincing than Ronda Rousy. Once she got beat, her character and confidence disappeared never to return. The wasn't the case for Joanna. She may have had trouble dealing with it, but she shook it off and regained her confidence. I hate I don't get to see her compete anymore, but I hope she's enjoying her retirement, she earned it.

Commentators talking nonesense. The girl in the white just kept chasing the other fighter, she should have let her come to her, a lot of wasted energy just chasing. Lmfao, it's easy to say that when you don't know the whole story. It's not a testament to Rose, Joanna had a botched weight cut that left her compromised going into the first fight with Rose Namajunas, it's a well known fact, that's why Joanna looked so bad in that fight and couldn't take 1 good punch. In the rematch, whatever punch Rose hit Joanna with, over 5 rounds, she never dropped her, never even dazed her or anything, Joanna ate it all for breakfast. Ever wondered how she dropped Joanna twice in 1 round in the first fight yet in the 2nd fight, couldn't even stun Joanna over 5 rounds and Joanna ate all the same punches with no problem? Anyone would've knocked Joanna out at UFC 217 because Joanna should not have been in the cage at all after that awful, botched weight cut. Joanna was in no condition to fight there. Botched weight cut left her sluggish and chinny. Rose fought a handicapped Joanna in the first fight.

@@michaelvaughn7137 Once again being ignorant. Things aren't just black and white. Losing a decision in a competitive fight and losing by TKO in the first round is much different. The fact of the matter is, she was nothing like herself in the first fight and that's just pure facts. It's not just about the outcome, it's about what happens in the fight, there's a massive difference in performance in between the first fight and the second fight. Those punches didn't have the same effect on her at all in the second fight like they did in the first fight. Care to explain that? I already did explain why, but you're just dismissing it as "excuses" even though those punches didn't have the same effect on her at all in the second fight lol, the proof is literally right there. Fighters are the ones that get in the cage and take all the damage, yet the fans are the ones acting like they've got cte, and not the fighters, given how they have no comprehension at all 😂
