@@positivelastaction3957he missed weight so it wouldn't have mattered. Also if you do nothing the whole round but then knock someone down it doesn't mean it's a 10-8 round. People think Hendo beat Bisping lmfao. Hendo literally got dominated throw holes fight but knocked him down twice in 2 different rounds. Romero lost my respect after the Izzy fight. Izzy gave him that fight after he lost and Yoel ,the challenger, just stood there like a weirdo and at best this figh was a draw.

That’s the thing with Whittaker you can’t break him with a volley you need to put him down with a big shot. It’s actually crazy how he didn’t get put out in the third round and just kept fighting. Even when he ate that head kick off costa most people would have shelled up or clinched or shot for a takedown but when costa walked up to a very rocked Whittaker to try and finish him Whittaker stood his ground and started swinging big hooks in the pocket like a maniac 😂.

One thing I always admired about Whittaker is that even when he gets dropped or almost KO'd he still goes forward and never stops being aggressive. There's not even a drop of fear in his blood.

@@smdd90 Robert admitted himself that he lost himself around that time in his career. He was being too technical and really just bored in the cage and not working on "being a dog" and his last fight with Costa he wanted to get that fire back so I'm hoping he has sparked it moving forward.

Rob started blitzing into the jab just before it hit him, so a lot of the power he felt in that was his own bodyweight. Unlucky timing and Dricus later implied that he was never setting up that shot for a KO. It was his own body weight, so aside from that his only post-welterweight weight-cut KO was from Izzy; after Rob had come back from long-lasting medical issues and then fought recklessly against someone who knocked out Pereira and won a TKO over Costa (back when Costa still looked like light-heavyweight minimum and could only fight at catchweight). Rob has a notably good chin (and still does), which is obvious once you scrutinise all the contrary evidence more thoroughly.

Nah this is cope. Back then yes but Robert straight up quit against dricus. Covered up at the fence and just let dricus wail on him guaranteeing a TKO. When Yoel did that here Rob was throwing back with elbows despite being super badly rocked. Those are 2 very different things. Also when dricus dropped him with the jab rob ran away. Rob ran for like a second in the Yoel fight but it was only to re-establish distance and get back to striking. Against dricus he was just running once he got hurt.

If your the champion, and your opponent does not make championship weight, they forfeit their right to fight for the belt.. it’s a non-title fight at that point. If the champ misses weight but the opponent doesn’t, the champ loses the belt (a la Oliveira) and cannot regain it if they win, but the opponent can gain the belt if they win.

Romero had the same fighting style standing his ground, against Adesanya, but Adesanya was so scared after taking a solid punch that got his eye blinking like crazy. After that it was a nonstop running contest with only leg kicks. Whittaker fought with courage and skills to avoid many hits. He didn't just start running after feeling the power. Where's all the Adesanya fans saying "Did you expect Izzy to trade and take punches?" 😂 You don't have to run to be skilled and smart.

Whittaker is just an unbelievable fighter. He has a heart a soul of a champion. He keeps going where others would give up. Romero was physically and mentally drained trying to put Whittaker away. Whittaker is a savage fighter in the Octagon but the nicest family man outside. He's a professional through and through without the shit talk.

Weird opinion: I believe Romero never took his mma career seriously. I think that's why he rarely threw, he had a wonky style, and he almost never wrestled, even when he had a clear disadvantage on the feet. I don't say that to slight him. I just think he was having fun with it since he knew how durable and athletic he was.

Nah man, Romero just has wonky stamina and is terrified of running out of gas. Wrestling is crazy draining, Romero throws everything with crazy power, so he has to be weird and low output. He cuts crazy weight, and is 41, and as much as he is a genetic freak, no one is immune to the effects of age and weight loss.

Wrestling is tiring, you want to make the opposition tire more trying to get back than you get shooting. Romero had a very limited gas tank being so huge and he didn't have submissions to make his wrestling more of a finishing option.

@@BenT800and 4 on actual quality strikes. The round would've been an effective striking round so IMMEDIATE effect would've been the top priority and yoel visibly hurt rob 2 times in that round. If we scored on numbers rob would've beat chito and aldo.

Stop posting this weird as comment casual. BIsping vs Silva was way more entertaining. I'm saying that 2 say that both Whittaker, and Bisping got knocked down twice but that in a Title figh in different rounds but that was was pretty much it.Yoel took round 1, 2, 4 off and hrs a beast but always had cardio issues in those 5 round fights. Bisping n Whittaker won there fights and imo its very easy 2 judge both fights.

None of the judges gave Romero a 10-8 round, Whittaker clearly won 1, 2 and 4. Dominant rounds by Romero in 3 and 5 though.

????? 1 and 2 were as clear as a window then he won the 4th using 1 hand. I get it, Yoel is the boogeyman and very scary, but his fans need to face the fact Rob schooled him twice after being compromised early in both fights. Yoel is a juggernaut and rob is chinny so obviously Yoel rocks him in both, but rob is putting on a clinic for 40 minutes of the 50 they spent together

@@TheTool117.fights are scored by rounds. The majority of the 10 (around 7) were Whittaker rounds, some of which WERE the rounds he got rocked in, he just had so much more output and hurt Yoel as much. Cry about it. See how Yoel didn’t win either? Yup
