As a French and BSD fan, I admit that Poirier's willing to show he can still take a younger and hungrier fighter is a huge ballsy move. Very few if no veteran would actually do that right now. Not much to gain except honor and money. Props to him hands down.

My BIGGEST concern....it seems as though a list of fighters who have been HEAD KICK KO'd have a career that is followed by a rigorous decline in losses afterwards. -Usman -Volkanovski -Ferguson And Poirier just got head kick ko'd by Gaethje. I'm worried for my boy, Dustin. Always been a huge HUGE fan & REALLY wanted to see him hold that belt at least 1 time. Feel like he's rushing it, like he's got something to prove after the Gaethje loss & I think needs to take off more time to reset. I'm pretty sure there are other fighters who have been head kick ko'd & never recovered as well. I'd love for any1 2 add 2 this list. OR.....PLEASE prove me wrong & gimme a list of fighters who have been head kick ko'd & went up in the rankings, wins or even recovered enough to attain the belt. Really REEEALLY would love to hear Anyone's serious feedback on this issue I just happened to randomly correlate.

If Poirier can survive the first 7 minutes I can see him taking over and stopping Benoit. BSD has finished all of his wins and has never went the distance except for his loss and if recent history has shown finishing everyone within the distance looks good on paper up until you head into the later rounds and you’re gassed because you don’t have experience beyond you’re used to. Happened with Mike Mallott against Magny, Abus against Strickland, and Gaziev against Rozenstruik. People don’t seem to realize that Poirier was 12-1 with 10 finishes early in his career similar to where Benoit is now before he stepped up and fought a top dog in Korean Zombie where the experience won it for Zombie. I think Benoit is gonna experience something similar here with Dustin.

That's a solid take... but mostly everyone had volk winning against Topuria, that didn't happen. BSD may end it quick - but who knows, dustin is also 2-2 in his last 4 and coming off a KO loss.

This is a must win for Poirier and it couldn’t be against a tougher savage than BSD. Expecting one of the most entertaining round 1s I say that cause it’s hard to see this going past round 1 both hit way too hard and both go for the kill every time out.

Benoit Saint Denis must realize that in fighting, it's not just brute strength and aggression that count. Although he suffered a devastating knockout, it seems he partly contributed to his own defeat.
