I think the "worst" part about GSP's career is that most people missed the "Rush" era. Up until that Serra loss, GSP had very few decisions and destroyed almost everyone. It's almost like how people remember "Money" Mayweather rather than "Pretty Boy Floyd". It's a statement that dude is remembered as a/the GOAT even though most people don't even know about the destroyer version of GSP.
@jimmywilliams80454 ай бұрын
I remember that era. He stopped everyone on the feet.
@ManBat4203 ай бұрын
I think most the time GSP wouldn't risk putting himself in danger if he didn't need to. Like when he was defending his title he went to decision a lot but every single time he fought someone who was holding a UFC title or fighting for a vacant title he finished them or got finished (all 3 Hughes fights, the Serra rematch, Penn rematch, and Bisping) He never asked the judges to give him a title, he always took it.

GSPs the goat I don't care what anyone says he's the best of all time nice person, didn't fail a drug test, fought well rounded fighters unlike khabib who didn't want to challenge himself so he wanted to fight just strikers who didn't know anything about wrestling......

That's what I respect most about GSP's reign, he had to face the toughest guys, no picking opponents, didn't avoid anybody, didn't avoid any tough rematches. Like he could have easily avoided Diaz or the Penn remacth but he actaully wanted those fights because that's what the fans said would be his toughest fights. The list of champions he beat includes the UFC LW champion, the UFC WW champion, the UFC MW champion, the Strikeforce WW champion, the Strikeforce MW champion and the WEC WW champion...he literally took on all challengers.

23:45 Only reason fights like this with GSP didn’t end in submission is because ue doesn’t want to injure an opponent needlessly. If the submission attempt is good and the guy just won’t tap, and he knows he’s not at mich risk of losing, he’ll let it go, score more points by gaining control of a different submission attempt, and get his hand raised without tearing a guy’s arm or ankle off.
