Күн бұрын

In this episode John and Dan preview the UFC 241 main event between UFC heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier, and the man he claimed the title from, Stipe Miocic.
Having lost his belt in devastating fashion at UFC 226, Stipe Miocic now returns to the octagon, steadfast on reclaiming the gold he so covets, and re-establishing his reputation as the UFC’s most successful heavyweight champion.
However, as the only UFC fighter to defend titles in two different weight classes, Daniel Cormier will cement his legacy as one of the greatest champions in UFC history.
Hosted by UFC commentators John Gooden and Dan Hardy, UFC Inside the Octagon is an in-depth tactical analysis show that previews the feature fights at upcoming UFC events.

Dan hardy is wrong about DC'S intentions in that clinch punch sequence. He and his camped drilled that hook and uppercut from that side because they notice that Stipe always drops his arm coming out of clinches so he's quicker to his jab and check hook. DC baited him

If you watch the fight again, I'm not sure what minute but DC tries that exact sequence one time before the ko had happened. Then second time got it. It was early on in the round. DC even talked about in the press conference after how him and Javier Mendes noticed that Stipe dropped his hands after clinching.

People are hanging on the eye pokes. And granted DC was warned OVER AND OVER about them. But as an aside to that, Stipe keeps his hands low off the clinch. And he got caught. Could the eye poke have messed his vision up and not see that hand coming? Maybe. But he still left his hands down. You never hear Stipe saying anything about the eye pokes, so I think everyone else should realize that regardless of the eye pokes Stipe left himself open so ultimately that's what lost him the fight. And I'm a huge Stipe Fan. Although, people claiming they eye pokes never happened irritates me lol
@larrywdel
@larrywdel 5 жыл бұрын
Sorry Dan, but Stipe learned his lesson. When DC keeps reaching out, for striking range & a possible grab or one leg take down...Stipe knows that is to close. Stipe will be Jon Jones , circling, moving, jabbing and 1-2- 3 hard strikes &kicks high/low . Velasquez taught DC, n close finger poke then Elbow strike. Just 22 seconds before KNOCKOUT he had Swipe poke to Stipes eye /with 5 min. recovery , he never took it! , Stipe said eye was blurry after fight and face showed lots of eye pokes (both). Plus 2 other poke warnings in minutes, just before elbow. I'll take Stripe n 4 rounds. TKO! DC will cry also!
