@@alexalverez9297 How has it changed him? Volk has gotten way better since becoming champ. He's always improving. His last performance is not a testament to anything. Extremely short notice and out of shape. Volk puts in more work than anyone in the gym. Only way I see him losing is if his chin is diminished from lack of rest.

It's good that Ilia is SO confident and dismissive of Volk. It helps sell the fight. BUT if Ilia is hoping that it rattles Volk, and Volk might do something rash, he's right out of luck. Volk is just about the most mentally solid fighter on the UFC roster. It won't affect him at all.

Cejudos brother is really smart in correcting Cejudos approach to some of those front headlock positions. The reason to move slower in some spots is you you reduce your opponents openings to create separation. You wanna stay heavy on them and controlled. He changed his wrestling for the DJ fight and never really changed that wrestling approach too much. Will be interesting to see if this makes a difference against Merab.

I'm a huge Volk fan too but if anyone has the possibility of betting him at featherweight, it's Ilia Topuria. It's the aspects of MMA that he's good at and the way he utilizes those things that make him such a challenge.

This is my exact same sentiment. I'm a huge, huge Volk's fan, but Ilia's speed man... my goodness. Fast hands, knockout power, and amazing take down defence. The kid has been grappling since his teenage years. The fact that Ilia prefers standing to strike now is an indication of how well-rounded he is. In the fight against Yair, I honestly believed Yair had the striking edge over Volk on the feet if he could keep his distance and keep his emotions in check. But Volk nullified that advantage by closing the distance and taking him to the ground. Ilia is as dangerous on the ground as he is on the feet. And his boxing technique? Speed? Energy conservation? Lol. If Volk wins this one, it would be by the skin of his teeth.

Excited for this main event. Topuria is exciting matchup for volk but volk is volk. 145 volk is goat. Max can't outstrike him ortega can't submit him nobody can beat him. I'm sure after defend this one he gonna be FW goat.
