Man this win never gets old. The way Shogun stops punching before Yves could even stop the fight is pure class. I still have the shirts from that fight. The first fight showed a prime Shogun's striking skills, despite the blatant robbery. He came out and took the judges away.

Maaan. Shogun's GnP is SO underrated. Any time he knocked a guy down his followups on the ground were so precise. And he always knew exactly when a guy went totally unconscious and would stop the fight before the ref got in there

@@oyolaj he hit his prime young, just like aldo. youd say post conor was after his prime. i say shogun hit his prime during pride, he did a lot of heavy sparring in chute box which aged him fast. he was way quicker against diabate then him in this. do your research

People that weren’t following MMA prior to the Pride merger don’t understand that UFC got a declining Shogun whose trademark weapons in his soccer kicks and stomps were taken away from him. He had to reinvent his style completely for unified rules and a cage vs a ring where you can cut angles and he STILL won UFC gold.
